Empowering Hispanic and minority business people with the knowledge and resources to reach their full potential

The Southeast Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SEDHCC) has been created in order to bring Hispanic business community together under one roof and, in that way, to have a common voice for the important events and relationships that affect our commercial activities.

Mr. Ralph Castro (President of SEDHCC) was born and raised in Pleasant Grove when it wasa predominantly white community and largely ignored by Dallas City Hall. Today, the southeastern area of Dallas has boomed, and its population is more than 50percent Hispanic. And Mr. Castro's paint and body shop, along with a plethora of small Hispanic businesses, has prospered. But he believes Pleasant Grove is still largely ignored by city officials. He hopes that's about to change. He and several dozen Latino business owners have banded together to create the Southeast Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce to have a greater voice in economic development and public policy – and on redistricting battles to come. Part of the new chamber's strength will surely come from its new partnership with the older, well-established Greater Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Their new alliance to help the Hispanic business community in Pleasant Grove continue to grow.
